Hi Jay,
Thank you for organizing such a great race Saturday. Everything was top notch and done right. Your volunteers were outstanding. I experienced a new feeling of camaraderie with the other runners that is only possible on a course like this. Normally, I might see front and mid-pack runners one time if there happens to be an out and back section of a race, but on this course I saw them over and over. It was so encouraging to have that connection - most of them would acknowledge me with a nod, wave or words. I also enjoyed witnessing the life-cycle of the parks throughout the day - it was like seeing time lapse film clips. I even learned that heron catch rodents in the park and carry them down into the river to eat them - who would have guessed?! This race is a good test to find out what you're made of and why you run. As the last finisher, I'm proud to have been the curtain closer.
