If you plan to volunteer to help at the Orange Curtain 100k/50k, first of all,
thank you. This race could not be held without volunteers. Your help
enables Southern California ultra runners to meet their goals.
Date: February 17th, 2007
Time:
- Checkin at Liberty Park starts at 6:00 am
- Race starts at Liberty Park at 6:30 am
- Student volunteers are asked to arrive at 7:00 am or 11:00 am.
- Student volunteers are asked to stay 4 hours. If you have an issue with
this, please let us know so that we can schedule appropriately.
Locations: Volunteers will be stationed at 3 locations:
- Liberty Park - at 195th and Studebaker in Cerritos - Start/Finish area and main aid station
- Rynerson Park - just north of Centralia on Studebaker in Lakewood - Water only aid station during warm part of day.
- El Dorado Park - on San Gabriel River trail (west edge of the park) south of Wardlow, Long Beach - Southern race course turnaround with smaller aid station
If you have not been told otherwise, please report to the aid station at the
north end of Liberty Park, just south of South Street on Studebaker. The race
course is on the west side of each of these parks so if you cannot find anyone,
go west until you get to the bike path then look along the bike path for
activity.
This race will be held rain or shine so please come prepared for weather
conditions.
At least two adult volunteers will be stationed at each of the two ends of the course. If we
open the water station at Rynerson Park, at least one adult volunteer will be stationed there.
Bathrooms are available close by the Liberty Park and Rynerson Park locations.
The bathrooms at El Dorado Park are about 1/2 mile away from the turnaround.
